  • Speech Guidelines

PurposeThe purpose of your graduation speech is to give thanks to those who may have helped you with your journey, to offer inspiration to your peers and our underclassmen, and/or to offer insight into what it took for you to get your diploma. This is not the appropriate setting/theme to make political statements, disparage people or organizations, or offer anything other than to stick to the purpose stated above. Please understand that MPHS reserves the right to edit speeches, if necessary, that do not follow the guidelines provided. Help with speeches will be provided this spring.Guidelines• 30-seconds to 3-minutes in length• Can be read from paper (but practice it beforehand)• Speech must be submitted to [email protected] for approval Guiding QuestionsThese questions don’t all have to be discussed, but use them as a resource to help guide your speech:• What makes you unique? Who are you?• Why did you choose Mica Peak?• What inspired you or changed you in high school? How specifically?• What are your plans for the immediate future after graduation?• Who has inspired/supported you? Explain how they inspired you.• Who do you want to thank?• What impact do you want to make in the world?

  • Tickets will be handed out at Wednesday's rehearsal.
  • Each graduate will receive a minimum of 10 tickets, the actual number will vary depending on the number of students graduating. Tickets may also be shared between students. Let Lynne Wilberding know the number of tickets needed.
  • Each guest will need a ticket to enter.
